NPCC Annual Parade 2017

It's the time of the year again, NPCC HQ held its annual parade, the NPAP on the 25th of March 2017 at the Home Team Academy. Queensway NPCC is honoured to be part of the Guard-Of-Honour  (GOH) contingent which also means that we have obtained the Gold Award for the Unit Overall Proficiency Award (UOPA) for the second time.

Representing Queensway NPCC in the Parade segment are: CPL (NPCC) Chloe Lim Wan Ting (303), CPL (NPCC) Low Jianlin (304), CPL (NPCC) Tan Zong Hong Gerald (311)  and the Queensway Flag Bearer: CPL (NPCC) Seah Tze Yang Kendrick (304).

Representing Queensway NPCC in the Post Parade segment: CPL (NPCC) Marco Lim Ke Xuan (311) and CPL (NPCC) Tan Zhu Yun Jacob (311).

The event started with the arrival of the Parade Commander and the Marching In of the supporting contingents. One of the contingent commanders was one of our Cadet Inspectors, CI (NPCC) Darrell Chua. After the supporting contingents are ready, it was time for the long awaited Guard-Of-Honour contingent to march in. It was a proud moment for our cadets to be marching on the Unity Square on that day as well as to see the Queensway flag flying with pride. The arrival of the Reviewing Officer, the GOH contingent inspection, the reciting of the NPCC Pledge and the singing of the National Anthem proceeded afterwards. The GOH contingents marching out, followed by the supporting contingents marks the end of the Parade segment. The Post-Parade commenced afterwards, the cadets involved dazzled the audience with their Unarmed Tactic and dance moves. Reception followed afterwards marking the end of another successful NPAP.

" I never expected to be marching for NPAP 2017 but I was really glad when I was chosen to go for the parade, especially with Queensway attaining the UOPA Gold award for the assessment year of 2016. This means that my other squadmates will be in the GOH contingents and I will be in the Gold Unit Flag Party (GUFP) contingent. The trainings were long and required lots of mental endurance. My other squadmates and I also spent many hours conducting our own training in school to ensure we don't miss out in HTA training. The actual parade came faster than expected, and before long, my contingent mates and I marched out onto the Unity Square in HTA in front of all our parents and friends. Though the trainings may have taken a lot og my time, I never regretted participating in this parade. The experience gave me many unforgettable memories, a sense of accomplishment and pride, as well as the opportunity to strengthen camaraderie with my own and other NPCC unit friends. It was great wearing the No.1 (Ceremonial) Uniform and to be bearing my school flag at the same time. NPAP 2017 will surely go down as one of my favorite memories made during my time in NPCC"
