Speech Day Parade 2017
The 56th annual Speech Day was held on the 13th of April 2017. It also marks the end of service for our graduating batch of Sec 4 Uniformed Group members. The Guard-Of-Honour (GOH) contingent for this year is Queensway's Boys Brigade unit, the 61st Singapore Company, led by Company Sergeant Major, Bill Ong (401).
Before the beginning of the event, we had our CCA photoshoot being held. The Parade Participants will be representing the QSS NPCC Cadets and Cadet Inspectors in the photos.
The event began with the Parade segment through the arrival of the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) , our very own, SSGT (NPCC) Khalid Bin Abdul Rashid (403). The RSM gave the command for the Supporting Contingents to march in and prepare for the arrival of the GOH contingent and the Flag Party. After the transfer of command to the Parade Commander, the PC gave the command for the GOH contingent and the Flag Party to March In.
Holding the NPCC Flag is SSGT (NPCC) Suhhas Raja Mohan accompanied by SSGT (NPCC) Ng Jun Xiang. Soon, the contingents marched out, signalling the end of the Parade segment. It was a proud moment for the parade participants on that fateful day.

"We started training for speech day in mid February, we trained very hard, there were many ups and downs , lots of scolding there were emotional times yet there were times where I bonded not only with my escort but with my counterparts from other CCAs. We fostered amazing camaraderie which I believe will go along way . the whole flag party was there for each other we supported, encouraged and motivated each other throughout the training sessions . On the actual day we gave it our best we made sure all that effort we put in training was worth it . We marched and executed our drills with utmost precision and detail. We carried the flags of our CCAs with our flags high, it has been an amazing 4 years as a cadet of Queensway NPCC and these memories will definitely be with me throughout my life. It was such an amazing way to end my service to this unit by being a flag bearer for NPCC and it is a day I will never forget . I hope to come back next year as a Cadet Inspector to give back to my unit."
"Being the Regimental Sergeant Major for the 56th Speech Day was an absolute honour for me. I had the privilege to enter the parade square first but it also meant that I had to uphold a huge amount of responsibility. I had to ensure that parade training ran smoothly and that everyone maintains a high level of professionalism throughout the whole parade sequence Together with my fellow Flag Commander, every training with the Flag Party was able to run smoothly. I will forever be proud of my Flag Party as they have given their utmost best during the training sessions and on the actual day. Training for the Flag Party began as early as mid February and every training was a memorable one for me and my Flag Commander. The parade would also not be a success without the dedication, commitment and effort by the parade participants and the Contingent Commanders. They sacrificed time and energy to prepare their uniforms to their highest capability and to perform to their best on that day. Thank you for allowing me to offer my expertise and I hope that had helped you during the parade itself. I would like to also thank the Teachers-In-Charge, Commanding Officer of QSS NCC Unit, Major (NCC) Mr Ganesan and our very own Teacher Officer, ASP (NPCC) Mr Terence Leong, for putting their faith in me in upholding the tasks and the responsibility of the Parade Regimental Sergeant Major. The Speech Day Parade was without any question, the best way to end my service in Queensway NPCC. I am proud of my fellow comrades, the Sec 4 batch, that participated in the parade and also to the other graduating members of their respective Uniformed Group. May this not be the last parade I were to participate as I hope to comeback to continue my service to the unit and be part of more in the near future. "
