Civil Defence Course
The Civil Defence course is a one-day course that is conducted for the secondary two cadets to learn the meaning and the importance of Civil Defence. Our secondary two cadets went to the Civil Defence division that is held the nearest to our school on the 29th October to attend this course. We learnt many things such as civil defence knowledge, basic first aid skills and much more. The course was very informative and we had gained many life skills from this course. We also had the chance to learn several new skills and knowledge through the informative theories that are taught by the facilitators and the medics themselves. Apart from just theories, we also participated in some practical that are guided by the SCDF workers, such as putting out a fire, performing CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on a medical-training manikin as well as practicing our bandage dressing skills together with our peers. As this is a one-day course, we were given ample break time to rest and have a proper meal. Also, we were given a test at the end of the day to see if we are qualified to attain the Civil Defence Proficiency badge. It was a fruitful day as we had gained much more skills from this course.
