Beijing Trip Day 3
DAY 3, we went to visit the Beijing No. 24 Middle School for immersion activities for approximately half of the day. Afterwards, we proceeded on to the Wangfujing street later at night.
After we had our breakfast in the hotel, we then departed off for the Beijing No. 24 Middle School. Before our arrival at the school, we got a brief introduction of the school by our tour guide. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by such wonderful hosts with some slide presentations as well as a short clip on their school which let us better understand their history. Just through this introductory session, I've learnt that this school is very well-diversed and offers many great learning opportunities for their students' welfare due to the wide range of amenities available for them. All of us were grouped into different teams and were also allocated to various classes to attend and experience the lessons with the local students. Afterwards, we had our lunch together with them in the classroom. The lunch was prepared by the school and the students only had to bring their own utensils to school.
After such a filling meal, we headed off back to the hall and prepared for the next segment of the immersion program-performance. The local students had put together a marvellous performance for all of us. Apart from them, we also came prepared and introduced a game to them, seven-up. All of us were involved in the game and I believe we all had a whale of a time together. Next, we also taught them the one of our NPCC cheers, the all-time-favourite, Peace By The River! It allowed us to bond together with the local students. There will always be an end to all these fun. After the immersion program, we exchanged gifts with our buddies and moved on to our next destination, the Wangfujing street.
We headed off to the Wangfujing street and settled our own dinner as we were told by our tour guide. The Wangfujing street was definitely an eye-opener as it was filled with many stores of all sorts, from book stores to food streets. Wangfujing is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in this bustling city as it was packed with many people at night.
It is no doubt, a fun-filled day being able to communicate and exchange cultures and experiences with our buddies back in the Beijing No. 24 Middle School and also, experiencing culture and nightlife along the Wangfujing street.
